Bibliography

Use bibliography search to find bibliography reference. The search is searching through the ISO-690 style names,  so you can search for title, author, publisher name or publishing year.

Where we have ISBN or ASIN number available, you will be able to search for this reference on Amazon with one click.

Some catalog references have their hierarchical context and reference numbers available in the database. In such case, if there are auction lots linked to those reference numbers, the structure will be available to browse through. Only categories and reference numbers with auction lots will be shown.

Linking catalogs is ongoing work, please let us know what references you would like to see in the database. For public domain books there could be more detailed information available. For copyrighted works, only context and reference numbers are available.

Political-Geography

Use political-geography search to find issuers such us countries, towns, private companies, etc… Assigning auction lots to correct issuer is ongoing work. Some countries are processed very good while others dont show any auction lots under. Please have patience, this part of database will be improved. Usually we do it on project (package) basis. Project or package is a  specific group of countries and issuers from some era or area that logically belongs together. When we publish package, it is preprocessed so there will be links present if they can be found in auction archive. You can  find list of available packages on the Home page.

Auctions

The initial page shows upcoming auctions list. At the moment we do not show many. This will improve in near future.

Auction search is full text search for auction lots. Currently there is no limitation except the result which is limited to 100 auction lots. Please use better search expressions to narrow down the result - see Quick Help for Search under this paragraph. You can also use check boxes to limit result to auction lots with pictures only, or with bibliography reference only. Auction house country can be also selected. 

Quick help for search

Search is sensive to accented characters. It is not sensitive to lowercase/uppercase characters. You can use all european languages including Greek or Russian. Searching using Chinese or Japanese is available in experimental mode.

• operator AND - separate words with space
• operator OR - separate words with |
• operator NOT - use ! or - before the word
• exact phrase - enclose exact phrase in ""
• parentheses or brackets () can be used for grouping or to change the order of operators

Currently the search is searching on auction category name, auction lot title and auction lot description together. However, it is possible to narrow down the search to exact field.

• to search only in auction lot description, use @description before the word
• to search only in auction lot title, use @title before the word
• to search only in auction category, use @category before the word
